The 5 best anime opening songs of 2018

I’ll keep this short, here are the five best anime OPs of 2018 (all links/songs taken from Youtube)

5. Voracity – Myth & Roid (Overlord III)

The opening to the third season of this Fantasy anime slides in to the #5 spot. Some weird rhythm changes and a smattering of English (very common in many Japanese songs)

4. Futari no Hane – YURiKA (Hanebado!)

YURiKA has already made several songs for anime shows but I feel this is her best song and fits the anime very good (very nice op animation as well).

3. Iwanai Kedo ne. – Ohara Yuiko (Karakai no Jouzu no Takagi-san)

As sweet little song perfectly fitting this cute anime. The singer Yuiko Ohara have among other things also done the ending song High Stepper for Hanebado!

2. Oteage Psychics – Shiggy Jr. ( Saiki Kusuo no Sainan S2)

This energetic song by Shiggy Jr. was the second OP song (for episode 13-24) of Saiki Kusuo no Sainan S2. The band which released it’s first EP back in 2013 also did the second ED song for the anime Kyoukai no Rinne S2 in 2017.

1 Shiny Days – Asaka (Yuru Camp)

This song with its catchy hook must be seen as a great homage to the megahit I Want You Back by the Jackson 5. Pure ear candy.
